Not all forms of free stuff being given to you during Christmas are called gifts. Sometimes, you are being given freebies. Christmas parties in companies, and government offices have these sometimes. Hand-crafted products, patriotic items, pins, books, gift cheques, jewelries, stickers, suncatchers, informational guides, bookmarks, grab bags, personalized items, office meal stubs, and high-end pens are just some examples of these freebies to watch out as the Christmas season hops around the bend.
You may argue, but it's Christmas Season so everybody is just giving gifts. I don't think so. Receiving Christmas gifts and getting freebies are two different things. How do you recognize a freebie? It's so simple to distinguish a gift from freebies. Normally, gifts come in packing presentation, wrapped nicely by season-designed gift wraps.
On the other hand, freebies need not be wrapped. Sometimes they carry the name or logo of the company or government offices: product give-aways where the seal or name of the institution is embossed, carve, stuck, engraved on them. Of course there are times when these products don't carry the name or logo of the company. It's because people too, sometimes like these items with the names and logos, and sometimes they don't. It depends which item of course. Whatever it is, don't forget to say thank you.
